Maharashtra Board HSC Class XII 2020 Results Declared; 90.66% Pass Exams

Mumbai: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Education (MSBSHE) announced the result of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) i.e. Class XII examination on July 16.

Students can check their results visiting the official websites — mahresult.nic.in, mahahsscboard.maharashtra.gov.in. On the homepage of the website, students need to click on their relevant class link and then log in by entering their roll number, mother’s name and other details. Finally, students need to click on the view result button following which their scorecard will be displayed on the screen.

Unlike other years, the Board hasn’t provided any facility to get the result details through SMSes. The Board Chairman Shakuntala Kale confirmed the same, according to media reports.

Out of 15.05 lakh students who appeared, over 12 lakh (12,81,712) successfully cleared this year’s examination. The total pass percentage of the state was recorded at 90.66, a significant jump of 4.78 per cent compared to last year’s pass percentage of 85.88. Among the handicapped students, 93.57 percent cleared their HSC, Class XII exams.

To pass the exam, candidates need to score 35 per cent marks in aggregate in addition to scoring a minimum of 20 per cent marks in theory exams.

Science has recorded the highest pass percentage of 96.93. The pass percentage in Commerce is 91.27, Arts – 82.63 per cent, MCVC – 86.07 per cent. Girls outshone boys as 93.88 per cent girls who appeared for the exams passed compared to 88.04 per cent boys.

For those students who have cleared the examination but still want to appear for Class Improvement Scheme, only two attempts will be allowed.

Konkan division topped among districts with 95.89 per cent while Aurangabad has the lowest pass percentage of 88.18. The Pune division with 92.50 per cent bagged the second position.
