Mumbai: Global Teacher Prize winner Ranjitsinh Disale was felicitated by Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and his deputy, Ajit Pawar on Monday, reported Hindustan Times.
Among the other ministers present were Balasaheb Thorat, Eknath Shinde, Aaditya Thackeray and Varsha Gaikwad. Disale’s parents were also felicitated.
A primary school teacher from Paritewadi in Solapur district, Disale was recognised for his efforts to promote girls’ education. He was in the news recently for announcing that he will share 50 per cent of the prize money with his fellow finalists.
