Matriculation Exam Begins In Odisha;5.1 Lakh Students Appear For Test

The examination is being conducted at 3,029 centres across the state; AI-enabled cameras have been installed at the exam centres and nodal centres to ensure strict monitoring

BHUBANESWAR: The annual matriculation examination began in Odisha on February 21 as the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has taken concrete steps to prevent malpractice and question leak.

Sources said that 5,12,437 students across the state are appearing for the examination being conducted at 3,029 centres in 30 districts of the state.

The exams will continue until March 6.

On the opening day of the annual exam, students appeared for the First Language subjects including Odia, Bengali, Hindi, Urdu, Telugu and English.

While 314 nodal centres have been set up, the exam centres have been be equipped with CCTV cameras to ensure strict monitoring. The Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled cameras have been installed at the exam centres and nodal centres.

While four-tier squads have been formed to check malpractice, there will be a control room at the board’s headquarters to oversee real-time proceedings through live streaming. The board officials will monitor exam operations from the control room.

Each question paper will carry a unique serial number to trace any possible leaks. The question papers have been despatched to exam centres on February 12 and reached the exam centres by February 19.
Chief Minister   Mohan Charan Majhi wished luck to the students.

“My best wishes to all students appearing for the class 10 board exams conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha. May the students perform well and appear for the exams with a positive attitude and strong self-confidence, free from stress. I wish all the examinees success and a bright future,” Majhi posted in Odia on social media platform X.

 

The evaluation will start from March 19. Each district will have designated nodal centers for smooth conduct of the exam and evaluation procedures.

A control room at the BSE headquarters will oversee real-time proceedings through live streaming. The board officials can monitor the examination from the control room.
