HYDERABAD: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has withdrawn two seats from the stray vacancy round of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) counselling.
This decision was made in compliance with the court rulings.
An open category MBBS seat each has been removed from Lakshmi Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences and Mahatma Gandhi Medical College, both in Pondicherry.
The MCC of DGHS has received information from these institutes to remove the seats from the seat matrix of Special Stray Vacancy Round of UG counselling as per the direction of the Karnataka High Court, said a notification issued by the MCC.
These seats were excluded from the seat matrix during the allotment process for the special stray vacancy round of NEET UG counselling.
Further, the MCC has added several seats to the seat matrix for the special stray vacancy round of the NEET UG counselling 2024 for MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing programmes, the notice added.

New seats added
These new seats are available at institutions, including Symbiosis Medical College for Women in Pune, Government Medical College in Machilipatnam, Datta Meghe Medical College in Nagpur, and the College of Nursing at BHU Varanasi.
Eligible candidates can now choose from these newly added seats during the stray vacancy round of the counselling.
Candidates who have been allotted seats in the MCC NEET UG special stray vacancy round will not be eligible to participate in the special stray vacancy round of the state UG counselling 2024 process.
