Meghalaya Cancels Selection Test For Class X-XII Students

Shillong: After West Bengal, the Meghalaya State School Board has decided to cancel selection tests for students of Class X and XII in 2021 as a precautionary measure against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meghalaya Education Minister, Lahkmen Rymbui informed that exemption from the selection test was done as a one- time exception to ensure the safety and health of all the stakeholders in view of the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation.

The Class X and XII examinations conducted by the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) will be held in March-April next year.

“The Secondary School Leaving Certificate and the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate examinations will be held in March-April, next year. The dates of the examination will be finalized by the Meghalaya Board of School Education,” the Minister told PTI. A notification in this regard has also been issued, he added.

He further mentioned that the schools have been directed not to conduct any selection test at their level for the students.

A one-time exemption has also been given to all candidates who are willing to appear in SSLC and HSSLC examination 2021 but had failed in selection tests conducted in 2019. They will be allowed to appear in the upcoming final SSLC and HSSLC examination to be held in March-April 2021.
