NCPCR Summons CBSE Officials; Seeks Explanation On Facebook Collaboration
New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) officials have been summoned by child rights body National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) to give an explanation for its partnership with social media platform Facebook to conduct classes on augmented reality and “digital safety and online well-being”.
Speaking to news agency PTI, NCPCR chairperson Priyank Kanoongo cited the unsafe nature of social media platforms, saying that inviting children there “prima facie does not appear right to the commission” and thus seeking an explanation from the CBSE officials.
In a letter, the NCPCR has asked CBSE officials to appear before them on November 9.
