NEET 2021: Notice On Minimum Age, Eligibility Issued For BSc Nursing Programmes

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a notification for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET 2021).

The NTA has also mentioned the eligibility conditions for candidates seeking admission to BSc nursing courses via the national-level entrance exam.

The NTA said the minimum admission age is “17 years as on 31 December of the year in which admission is sought”. According to the agency, this is an “interim measure”. The NTA has asked the aspirants to check the eligibility requirements of various institutions.

“…eligibility criteria are minimum as prescribed by INC. However, the Candidates seeking admission into B.Sc. (Nursing) course in various Nursing Colleges/Institutes are advised to check the eligibility criteria from the respective Colleges/Institutes/Deemed Universities. The NTA has no role in laying down eligibility conditions, the same are being communicated as per INC. This is an interim measure,” the testing agency said.

“A candidate should have passed in the subjects of PCB (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 45 per cent marks taken together in PCB at the qualifying examination (Class 12),” the NTA said about minimum education requirement.
