NEET PG 2025 Postponed After Supreme Court Order; Revised Date Soon
The NBEMS has clarified that it is working to arrange additional test centres and the necessary infrastructure to accommodate all candidates in a single shift
NEW DELHI: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has postponed the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate courses (NEET PG) 2025 after the Supreme Court directed that the examination be conducted in a single shift to ensure transparency and fairness.
In its ruling on a recent petition in the Aditi & Others vs National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences & Others case, the Supreme Court said: “We, accordingly, direct the respondents to make necessary arrangements for holding the NEET-PG 2025 examination in one shift, duly ensuring that complete transparency is maintained and secure centres are identified and commissioned.”

NBEMS was earlier expected to release the advanced city intimation slip for NEET PG 2025 on June 2. However, due to the postponement, new dates for the city slip, admit card, and examination will be released soon.
The move aims to standardise exam conditions for all candidates and address concerns raised about discrepancies in previous multi-shift examinations. The decision has significant implications for thousands of medical graduates preparing for the crucial postgraduate entrance test.
The NEET PG is a national-level entrance examination conducted for admission to PG medical courses (MD/MS/PG Diploma) in India.
