The NBEMS clarified that aggregate marks in all MBBS professional examinations or FMGE, as provided in the NEET-PG application form, will be verified against original credentials at admission.

Scorecards will indicate these aggregate marks if they were used to resolve ties in NEET-PG 2025 ranks.

“If the information provided in the application form is found incorrect and has been used to resolve a tie, the candidate’s NEET-PG 2025 candidature will be cancelled,” the board added.

Candidates found using unfair means at any stage of the exam will face penal action by NBEMS, MCC, or the counselling authority. Any such candidates declared successful will have their results or candidature cancelled.

For queries, candidates can contact NBEMS at 011-45593000 or via their Communication Web Portal.

Decision draws flak

Meanwhile, the slash in qualifying percentile triggered a row, with the move drawing flak from several quarters.

The FORDA (Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association) strongly condemns the arbitrary reduction of NEET PG cut-off scores; urges Union Health Minister JP Nadda for immediate intervention.

The decision severely erodes public trust in doctors and health care. The slash favours private medical colleges by filling the seats with low-scoring candidates at exorbitant fees,” it said.

Dr Rohan Krishnan, President of the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA), said the decision reflects deeper structural issues in postgraduate medical education and poor seat planning, rather than a genuine attempt to address specialty-wise shortages.
