NEET UG 2025 To Be Held In Pen And Paper Mode In A Single Day And Single Shift

The decision comes after detailed deliberations between education and health ministries on the mode of conduct of the examination for UG medicine courses

NEW DELHI: National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test 2025 (NEET UG) 2025 in pen and paper mode in a single day and single shift.

The decision was announced by the NTA in an official notification. “As decided by National Medical Commission (NMC), it is informed that the NEET UG 2025 shall be conducted in Pen and paper mode (OMR based) in Single day and Singe Shift,” the notice said.

Earlier, the education and health ministries had said that they were yet to decide whether the NEET-UG medical entrance exam for 2025 will be held in pen-and-paper mode or a Computer-Based Test (CBT).

“The administrative ministry of NEET is the Health Ministry, and we are in talks with them to decide whether NEET should be conducted in pen-and-paper mode or online mode. We have already conducted two rounds of talks with the Health Ministry led by JP Nadda. Whatever option is deemed best for conducting the exam, the NTA is prepared to implement it,” Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had said.

The NTA has also announced that there will be a uniform NEET (UG) for admission to UG programmes in each discipline including BAMS, BUMS, and BSMS courses of the Indian System of Medicine in all Medical Institutions governed under this Act.

NEET (UG) will also apply for admission to the BHMS course under the National Commission for Homeopathy, the NTA said.

NEET UG mandatory for MNS aspirants

“Military Nursing Services (MNS) aspirants seeking admission to BSC Nursing course being conducted at Armed Forces Medical Service Hospitals for the year 2005 are required to qualify the NEET UG. The NEET UG score will also be used for shortlisting for selections to the four-year BSC Nursing course,” the NTA notice added.

The NTA had earlier asked the candidates appearing in the exam to link their Aadhaar with a valid mobile number for OTP-based authentication. Applicants are also required to update their credentials in Aadhar, preferably as per their class 10 Marksheet/Passing Certificate.

The registration process for NEET (UG)- 2025 will begin in due course of time. The NEET UG syllabus 2025 has been made available on the NEET 2025 official website.

National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET (UG) is conducted for admission to undergraduate medical education in all medical institutions across the country. It serves as a gateway for admission to MBBS courses in AIIMS, New Delhi, JIPMER, and other government institutions.
