New Delhi: University Grants Commission (UGC) has asked universities to conduct webinars to create awareness regarding the new National Education Policy (NEP), 2020 among students, teachers and other stakeholders in the higher education system.
According to a NDTV report, UGC has also shared with universities the salient features of NEP, 2020 in both Hindi and English for their understanding and use. The commission has asked universities to engage in online activities that would spread awareness and create understanding of the implications and policies under NEP among all.
It also suggested the use of print, electronic and social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc to do the same.
On July 29, the Union Cabinet approved the draft new National Education Policy, 2020 under which Higher Education Commission of India (HECI) — a ‘single overarching umbrella body for entire higher education’ — will replace UGC, AICTE( All India Council of Technical Education) and NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council).
