New Delhi: The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CICSE) announced on Thursday that the academic session 2021-22 for ICSE-affiliated schools will begin as per the usual schedule in March.
The council however clarified that it has not declared the dates for its ICSE and ISC (classes X and XII) exams yet which created confusion among students and schools. The council stated that exams will be delayed, but didn’t declare the dates.
“The council is in receipt of several queries from the heads of schools regarding the start of the new academic session 2021-22. This has probably been raised because ICSE and ISC exams 2021 have not been scheduled yet. Please be informed that the two matters are unrelated,” a circular sent by CICSE chief executive and secretary Gerry Arathoon to all school principals on Thursday was quoted as saying by ThePrint.
According to the notice, exams will be held as per usual schedule in February “given the pandemic situation and the upcoming elections in five states”.
“The dates of exams will be announced later at an appropriate time,” the notice said.
“However, the start of the academic year 2021-22 will remain same as that of the previous years,” the council stated.
