The NIRF uses a score-based system to rank institutions in different categories (Engineering, Overall, etc.). Each institute is evaluated on five broad parameters, with a fixed weightage.
Each metric within a parameter is given a raw score (e.g., number of PhDs awarded, placement percentage). Raw scores are normalised (scaled between 0-100) to account for variation between institutions. The weighted scores across all parameters are summed up to form the final NIRF score (out of 100). Institutes are ranked in descending order of their scores.
As per the NIRF 2025 ranking report, the institute has admission of 2,096 students from reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC), with 628 receiving full tuition reimbursement from institutional funds.
The institute’s placement record shows a substantial improvement with increasing numbers of students being placed.
