NIRF Ranking 2025: SOA Bags 15th Rank Among Universities, Excels Among Engineering And Medical Science Institutes

The university has bagged 25th rank in the Overall category, continuously finding place among the top 25 institutions of higher learning in India since the inception of the NIRF rankings

BHUBANESWAR: Continuing its academic and research journey for excellence, Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) Deemed to be University in Bhubaneswar has bagged 15th spot in India in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Ranking 2025 announced by the Ministry of Education.

The NIRF rankings were released by union minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan in New Delhi.

The university has bagged the 25th rank in the Overall category.

The SOA has continuously found place among the top 25 institutions of higher learning in India since the inception of the NIRF rankings in 2016. Of these, SOA had been ranked within the top 20 universities in the country on eight occasions.

The Deemed to be University has improved its rank in medical sciences moving up six places from 21st  last year to 15th this time, while in dental sciences it bagged 9th rank. In engineering, the SOA has jumped four places up this time to be ranked 22nd in the country. In law, it has been placed 10th this time.

Among the research institutions, the SOA has got 49th place, improving its rank by one place since last year. SOA’s Faculties of Dental Sciences and Law continue to be ranked among the top ten institutions in the country as in previous years.

The SOA had been reaccredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in 2022 with the highest Grade A++.

SOA’s Founder President Prof. (Dr.) Manojranjan Nayak expressed happiness over the ranks and congratulated the faculty, researchers and other employees while exhorting them to continue their effort to help SOA scale new heights.

“We must work hard to ensure that the university continues to climb the ladder and achieve greater laurels,” Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda, Vice-Chancellor of SOA, said.

The multi-disciplinary SOA came into existence on July 17, 2007 when the HRD Ministry conferred on it the status of a Deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956.

Focused on quality academics and research, the SOA has been churning out professionals in varied fields ready for the challenges and needs of different sectors. It has identified 27 thrust areas for promotion of research and set up 18  research and field centres, besides 60 research labs.

The SOA offers under graduate, post graduate, Ph.D and Post Doctoral programmes across disciplines including engineering and technology, medicine, dental sciences, management sciences, hospitality and tourism management, hospital administration, nursing, pharmaceutical sciences, biotechnology, legal studies, agricultural sciences and veterinary sciences and animal husbandry.
