Bengaluru:NMIMS Hyderabad recently hosted orientation programmes for its new undergraduate students across various schools, including the School of Commerce, School of Pharmacy and Technology Management (SPTM), School of Technology Management & Engineering (STME), and the School of Law. In a press release, the institute said these events marked the official start of the 2024-29 academic journey.

The events were graced by several distinguished guests, including Noorul Hassan, Partner at Lakshmi Kumaran & Sridharan Attorneys; Akhil, a representative from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA); and Kiran Soma, Associate Vice President at Naukri.com. Their presence added significance to the occasion, as they shared valuable insights and advice with the new students.

The orientation sessions started with a warm welcome by Seema Gupta, Campus Director of NMIMS Hyderabad, who addressed the students and their families, emphasising the importance of embracing academic and personal growth.

“It’s a pleasure to welcome the new batches to NMIMS Hyderabad. Our mission is to not only impart knowledge but to shape you into confident, resilient leaders. We are committed to equipping you with the skills, opportunities, and guidance to excel both intellectually and personally in your chosen fields.” she said.

The orientation events included various activities designed to familiarise students with the campus, faculty, and their peers. The programme started with a ceremonial lamp lighting, followed by the NMIMS Anthem, which fostered a sense of unity among the students. Key sessions included presentations on academic expectations, campus facilities, and extracurricular opportunities, helping students understand the resources available throughout their studies. The event concluded with an interactive session where students had the chance to engage with faculty members and senior students, fostering a sense of community from the very beginning.

The orientation was further enriched by the wisdom and experience shared by the chief guests. Noorul Hassan, in his address to the students, highlighted the importance of ethical practices and continuous learning in the legal profession. “In law, integrity is your most valuable asset. Uphold it always. Remember, learning doesn’t stop at graduation—it’s lifelong. At NMIMS, you’ll gain more than a degree; you’ll build a solid foundation that will guide you through legal challenges and help you establish a respected reputation.” he said.

“Your time at NMIMS will be full of opportunities—seize them and take calculated risks. This is your moment to explore, challenge conventional thinking, and push your potential. Embrace the unknown, and remember, every experience, whether success or setback, is a valuable lesson shaping your future success,” Akhil from ACCA said.
