Kolkata: The West Bengal Education department has decided to do away with selection or pre-board examinations for class X and XII students for the current academic session.
Keeping the COVID-19 pandemic in mind, class X and XII students affiliated to of West Bengal Secondary and West Bengal Higher Secondary Education Board schools will appear directly for the Board examinations in 2021, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee informed on Wednesday.
The development comes amidst speculation that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) might change schedules of Class X and XII Board exams in 2021 due to the pandemic.
The CBSE had earlier postponed the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), which will now be held on January 31, 2021.
