New Delhi: Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that the recently approved National Recruitment Agency will benefit around 2.5 crore young job seekers in the country.
Under the National Recruitment Agency (NRA) a Common Entrance Test (CET) will be conducted to shortlist candidates for a majority of central government jobs. Under it, every district will at least have one exam centre, which would solve aspirants need to travel to far off places to appear for the test.
“There are around 2.5 crore young job aspirants and they are ready to go to any part of the country to appear for preliminary examination whether it is railway or SSC or Bank. Families of women job seekers are unable to send them to appear for the examinations for reasons like distance, lodging difficulties etc. Now they can allow them to take the test since the centres will not be far off,” said the minister.
In a tweet, Singh said, “Common Eligibility Test by National Recruitment Agency can be shared with recruiting agencies in State, Union Territory government, PSU and private sectors. This would save cost and time spent on recruitment, also convenient & cost-effective for young job aspirants.”
