NTA Releases Schedule For CSIR UGC NET June 2025 Exam, Check The Details

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the schedule for the Joint CSIR-UGC NET June 2025 examination.
The CSIR UGC NET 2025 exam for all the five subjects will be conducted on a single day, July 28,, said a notification issued by the NTA.

The NTA has clarified that the exam-city slips will be released 8 to 10 days prior to the examination date. Once issued, candidates who have registered for the examination will be able to check on the official website, csirnet.nta.ac.in.
The CSIR UGC NET exam serves as the eligibility test for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as Assistant Professor, and admission to PhD programmes in Indian universities and colleges.
The exam, which will now be held on a single day for all five subjects, was revised in response to numerous requests by candidates citing a scheduling conflict with the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) 2024, scheduled to be held July 26 and 27.
Examination pattern
The exam will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode across the country.
The five subjects for which the examinations will be conducted are mathematical sciences, earth, atmospheric, ocean and planetary sciences, chemical sciences, life sciences and physical sciences.
The UGC CSIR NET is conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode and consists of three parts: Part A — General Aptitude, Part B — subject-specific MCQs, and Part C — higher-order analytical questions.
The total paper carries 200 marks, and candidates must complete it in three hours. Negative marking applies, typically 25% per incorrect answer, though it may vary slightly by section and subject.
