Odisha: BJD MLA Purna Chandra Swain Clears HSC Offline Exams
Berhampur: The BJD legislator from Surada, Purna Chandra Swain has cleared the HSC offline examination.
The three-time MLA from Surada in Ganjam district secured 340 out of a total of 500 marks in the examination and passed with a B2 grade. He had appeared at the examination at Surada Girls’ High School. He was allotted an isolated room in view of his health issues.
The ruling party legislator had tried several times in the past to appear at the HSC examination but failed to do so due to his commitments to politics and social activities.
The politician from Ganjam district got the highest mark in Painting (85) followed by Home Science (83). He got 67 in Odia, 61 in Social Science and 44 in English.
The three-time MLA had dropped out after the ninth standard from Govt High School, Medical Campus in Berhampur.
The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) had conducted the offline Matric exams after many candidates alleged irregularities in marks awarded to them under the alternative assessment method.
The BSE announced the results of the offline examinations on Tuesday. Around 80.83% of the candidates passed the examinations.
