Odisha Govt Releases Medhabruti Scholarship Scheme 2019-20 Guidelines; Details Here

The Odisha Government has issued detailed guidelines for the award of 14,500 scholarships under the ‘Medhabruti’ scheme for 2019-20 academic year. The scholarship is applicable to those students who are pursuing under graduate, post graduate, technical and professional colleges within and outside Odisha.

Eligibility:

• Parental income from all sources should not exceed Rs 6 lakh per annum.
• The student must have secured 60 per cent.
• The student must be a permanent resident of Odisha.

The scholarships:

• Sr. Merit: It is for those pursuing undergraduate in Arts, Science and Commerce as well as for students who pursuing BBA, BCA, BJMC.
• No of scholarships: 3000
• Rate of scholarship per year: 5000
• Duration of the scholarship: 3 years

 

• P.G. Merit: It is for students who are doing post graduate studies in Arts, Science and Commerce.
• No of scholarships: 1500
• Rate of Scholarship per year: Rs 10,000
• Duration of scholarships: 2 years

 

• Tech and Professional Merit: It is for those doing their under graduate courses and integrated ones such as B.Tech, MBBS, BDS, BCA, BHMS, B.Pharm etc.
• No of scholarships: 10,000
• Rate of scholarships per year: 10,000
• Duration of scholarships: As per course duration

 

Who are not eligible:

The scholarship will not be applicable to students enrolled for distance education and for those who have already availed scholarships of state or central government.

The government has made it clear that the number of scholarships under a particular category could be increased depending on the number of students applied and validated in other categories.

Students are requested to visit the higher education department website and the medhabruti portal for further details.  

How to apply?

The application will be invited on the ‘medhabruti’ portal of the Higher Education Department of Odisha Government and a short notification will also be uploaded in the Higher Education portal.

Only verified online application will be considered for award of scholarship.

Students of CBSE, ICSE medium schools, universities and students of management, engineering and technical institutions have to apply online by visiting www.dheodisha.gov.in

Students of Odisha studying outside should also apply online.

Students pursuing under graduate programme in Odisha colleges and admitted through the e-admission process should not apply for the scholarship as the individual colleges will be uploading the details online.
