Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is considering resuming classroom teaching for students of Class VI and VII students in the first phase, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Dash said on Wednesday.
“Decision to start physical classes I-V will be taken in next phase. We hope all classes would commence by New Year,” he said on the sidelines of his visit to Sambalpur.
The minister had earlier told the media that classes in physical mode may resume for the primary and upper primary students after Diwali.
He maintained that classes are being reopened in a graded manner and teaching in physical mode is continuing for Class VIII to XII. “We are hopeful that a decision will be taken by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on the reopening of schools after Diwali at any moment,” he added.
Notably, classroom teaching for Class XI and VII began on October 21 and October 25, 2021, respectively. Classes for students of X and XII had resumed from July 26, 2021.
