Bhubaneswar: A day ahead of the schedule reopening of schools for students of Classes X and XII in Odisha, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash on Thursday visited schools in the city to oversee the arrangements.
The minister later told the media that all arrangements have been made as per the COVID-19 guidelines. The classrooms have been well sanitised and are ready, he added.
Informing about other measures taken by the school authorities, Dash said students will be given hand sanitizers while entering the school and a distance of five feet will be maintained between desks in a classroom.
There are over 10,000 schools with student strength of nearly 6 lakh in Odisha. Of these, 8,000 are government schools and the rest are private ones.
