Odisha To Reopen Colleges, Varsities On Monday; Check Guidelines

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is set to reopen public universities, government and non-government colleges for first-year students from Monday, September 20.

According to the state government order, it has decided to reopen the colleges and varsities following “improvement in COVID-19 situation in the state”.

The order also stated that hostels will reopen doors from Sunday, September 19, for the students by strictly adhering to all possible COVID-19 protocols.

The Odisha government has also issued guidelines for the colleges and varsities to follow. The guidelines say that teachers, staff and students staying in the containment zones shall not come to university and college, and masks have been made mandatory.

Classrooms, libraries, laboratories must follow the social distancing norms. Crowded classes must be divided into batches with extended teaching hours.

An isolation room must be kept ready for any emergency.
