Guwahati: Only one per cent of the students enrolled for the Special HS exam in Assam. According to the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC), about 2.49 lakh candidates registered for the Class XII Board exams this year, out of which, only 1,800 students applied for the special exams.
“The last date of applying for the exam was August 16. Only a negligible number of students have applied for the test. This shows a very low disappointment level among the examinees,” AHSEC secretary, Pulak Patgiri said.
The Class-XII registered students got 12 days to apply for the HS special exam, but only those who couldn’t pass the exam have applied for this special one, according to the secretary.
The exams will begin on September 15.
Meanwhile, the Class X special exam registration number witnessed a comparatively higher figure with around 22,000 candidates applying.
The overall pass percentage this year for the HSLC and AHM were 93.10 and 93.18, respectively.
