OSSSC Announces To Conduct CRE-2023 Again in October

The candidates need to download the admission letter from the official website and no hard copy of the admission letter will be sent individually, the commission says

BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha Subordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) has decided to conduct the Combined Recruitment Examination (CRE)-2023 for multiple posts including RI, ARI, amin, ICDS supervisor and statistical field surveyor (SFS) in October , 2025.

The OSSSC had scrapped the CRE-2023 over allegations of irregularities in the examination system.

The CRE-2023 preliminary examination for the posts of RI, ICDS supervisor, assistant revenue inspector, amin and SFS will be conducted again in computer-based recruitment examination (CBRE) mode from October 8 and may continue till the third week of November, a notification issued by the OSSSC said.

The exam will be held in all districts of the state.

Candidates have been instructed to download the admission letter by logging into the web portal of the commission, www.osssc.gov.in with their user ID and password.

The candidates can also take mock test while downloading the admission letter.

The commission has made it clear that no hard copy of the admission letter will be sent to the candidates.

As the examination will be conducted on different dates in multiple shifts using multiple question sets, ‘normalisation’ methodology will be adopted to convert the raw score of a candidate into a normalised score.

PwD candidates having benchmark disability will be allowed a compensatory time of 30 minutes as per the examination rules.

The OSSSC had conducted the preliminary CRE-2023 for recruitment of 2,895 posts in 2024 and the main examination was supposed to be held from August 1 to September 4 this year.

However, the recruitment process faced legal scrutiny after allegations of irregularities in the conduct of the preliminary exams.

The OSSSC then declared that all candidates had qualified to appear for the main examination irrespective of merit, in violation of the original recruitment guidelines.

As per the official rules, only candidates up to five times the number of vacancies are to be shortlisted for the main examination.

Following a High Court directive that flagged significant flaws in the examination system, the commission called off the main exam in July this year.
