Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has decided to involve parents and guardians in its mission to improve quality of education in state-run schools.
Talking to mediapersons here on Monday, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash said parents and guardians of Class I to Class VIII students will be allowed to see the answer sheets from this year.
The answer sheets will be provided at parent-teacher meeting in the last week of March after the annual examination. This will help them to properly evaluate and assess the standard of their children, the Minister said.
To a question on the shortage of question papers at some centres during the annual matric examinations last year forcing the centre superintendent to write the question papers on the blackboards, the Minister said that the state government was aware of the incident and steps were being taken to prevent a recurrence this year.
He also assured that the annual matric and Plus II examinations this year will be held smoothly.
