Private Schools To Charge Only Tuition Fee: Himachal Government

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh cabinet under the chairmanship chief minister Jai Ram Thakur, has decided to allow private schools to charge only tuition fees from the students.

The decision was taken after parents expressed their inability to pay hefty school fees with economic activities having come to a halt amid coronavirus pandemic.

The state government, in a statement, said, “In view of the lockdown due to outbreak of novel coronavirus in the country as well as in the state, the private schools would be allowed to charge only tuition fee.”

The state cabinet also approved to create and fill up the vacancies of Radiology and Gastroenterology Assistance Professors in Indira Gandhi Medical College(IGMC), Shimla. Also, Assistant Professor posts of Anatomy and Pediatrics in Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda(Kangra).

According to the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry, the total number of Corona cases has risen to 185 in the state, of which 61 has been cured. The virus has so far claimed three lives.
