Three IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) — Bombay, Delhi, Madras — and Delhi University have made it to the top 200 in QS World Graduate Employability ranking this year, after a very disappointing no-show at the Times World University Rankings.
This year’s QS World Graduate Employability ranking included 758 institutions, a 15 per cent increase in the number of institutions over last year’s edition.
Ranked in the 111-120 range, IIT Bombay is among top 24 per cent in the 2020 QS Rankings with a score of 54-55.1/100.
“It is a matter of great pride that 4 Indian institutions have been included in the list of top 200 institutes in the QS Graduate Employability Rankings-2020. IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras and the University of Delhi have achieved this distinction,” the HRD Ministry tweeted.
Overall, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) took the pole position in the ranking list, followed by Stanford University and University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
QS World University Rankings is an annual publication of university rankings by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). The Graduate Employability Rankings are designed to help students compare universities based on how employable its graduates are, according to the official ranking portal topuniversities.com.
The QS system now comprises the global overall and subject rankings ( which name the world’s top universities for the study of 48 different subjects and five composite faculty areas) alongside five independent regional tables – Asia, Latin America, Emerging Europe and Central Asia, the Arab Region and BRICS.
