Qualifying Percentile For NEET PG 2024 Reduced Again
Earlier, the NEET PG cut-off percentile was fixed at 50th for unreserved categories, 45th for PwD categories and 40th for reserved category students.
NEW DELHI: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has reduced the qualifying percentile for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2024 yet again.
The NEET PG 2024 qualifying percentile has been brought down across all categories to fifth percentile, said a notification issued by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS)
“In continuation of NBEMS notice dated 06.01.2025 and pursuant to the directions of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India vide its letters No. U. 12021/05/2024-MEC dated 20th February 2025, the minimum qualifying percentile for NEET-PG 2024 have been reduced as follows..” the notification said.
The minimum qualifying percentile for candidates in the General/EWS, UR-PwBD and SC/ST/OBC (including PwBD of SC/ST/OBC) is 5th percentile. However, there is no change in the NEET-PG 2024 Rank and percentile score as published on August 23, 2024, the NBEMS said.

NEET-PG 2024 was conducted on August 11, 2024 in two shifts for admission to MD/ MS/ DNB/ DrNB (Direct 6 years)/ NBEMS Diploma Courses of 2024-25 admission session. The result of NEET-PG 2024 was declared on August 23, 2024.
Earlier this year, the NBEMS had reduced the cut-off for all the categories. The general and EWS category students scoring 15 percentile and above became eligible to participate in the counselling.
The revised cut-off required to become eligible for NEET PG counselling announced in January became 10 percentile and above for students belonging to SC, ST, OBC and PwD categories.

Originally, the NEET PG cut-off percentile was 50th for unreserved categories, 45th for PwD categories and 40th for reserved category students.
Last year, the NEET PG 2023 qualifying percentile was brought down to zero across all categories.
