Rashtriya Bal Puraskar: PM Modi Asks Children To Work For Country & Stay Humble

New Delhi: Lauding the contribution of the children in raising awareness on handwashing during the COVID-19 pandemic, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday that a programme tastes success if they become part of it.

PM Modi, in an interaction with the ‘Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar’ awardees via video conferencing, showered accolades on the winners and said they should never stop working and stay humble all the time, according to a PTI report.

As the nation approaches the 75th year of its Independence, the prime minister urged the children to think about what they can do for the country.

PM Modi advised them to read biographies and said it will keep inspiring them. Speaking to a boy who made farming equipment, the prime minister said modern agriculture is the need of the country.

The Government of India has been awarding the Bal Shakti Puraskar under the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar to children with exceptional abilities and outstanding achievements in the fields of innovation, sports, arts and culture, social service, scholastic field, and bravery.

A total of 32 children have been awarded the ‘Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar’ this year for exceptional abilities and outstanding accomplishments in the above-mentioned fields.

The Ministry of Women and Child Development, via a statement, said the awardees are from 32 districts of 21 states and Union territories.

“Seven awards have been given in the field of Art and Culture, nine awards for Innovation and five for Scholastic Achievements. Seven children have won in Sports category, three have been felicitated for Bravery and one child has been honoured for her efforts in the field of Social Service,” the statement was quoted by PTI.
