Rourkela: National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela received the highest number of job offers in an academic year during campus placements.
The institute in Odisha attracted as many as 1534 job offers from around 330 companies during the campus placement process. Hence, 95% of students from the B.Tech programme have been placed.
Branches like Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering and Ceramic Engineering, as well as Dual Degrees in Mining Engineering and Ceramic Engineering saw a 100% placement of registered students.
A total of 24 students secured a package of more than Rs 50 lakh per annum, with 8 of them getting offers of Rs 52.89 LPA.
The average CTC (overall) jumped from Rs 11.15 LPA in 2021-2022 to Rs 12.95 LPA in 2022-2023, while average CTC of B.Tech students is Rs 14.22 LPA.
For Computer Science students, the average CTC is Rs 21.87 LPA. Average CTC for Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering Rs 18.12 LPA, for Electronics & Communication department Rs 17.97 LPA and for Electrical department Rs 14.55 LPA.
Software and IT Services were the top recruiters (31.1% of total recruitment), including Microsoft, Amazon, AWS, Hotstar, SAP Labs, etc.
Core Engineering accounted for 26.8%, with companies like Shell, Schlumberger, ExxonMobil, Tata Steel, John Deere, etc. being the recruiters, while Analytics and Consulting accounted for 15.3%, through Deloitte, PwC, Decimal Point Analytics, O9 Solutions and Kantar, etc.
