Registration Window For AP TET October 2025 Opens

Applicants possessing Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), or equivalent qualifications are eligible to apply

NEW DELHI: The Department of School Education Andhra Pradesh has opened the registration window for the AP Teacher Eligibility Test (AP TET) for the October 2025 exams.

The online application process will continue till November 23, with the examination set to be held on December 10 in online mode.

The test comprises Paper-1A, Paper-1B, Paper-2A, and Paper-2B, catering to candidates aspiring to teach Classes 1 to 5 and 6 to 8 in general and special schools.

Each paper carries 150 marks, and the minimum qualifying marks vary by category – 60% for OC/EWS, 50% for BC, and 40% for SC/ST/PwBD and ex-servicemen.

Applicants with Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), or equivalent qualifications are eligible to apply. Those pursuing the final semester of these courses can also appear for the exam.

Teachers working in private schools whose appointments were not approved by the competent authority are not exempted from passing TET.

Such teachers of Private Unaided Schools shall appear for TET conducted by either the State Government or Central Government. In respect of non-approved teachers working in Private Aided Schools, they shall invariably appear for TET conducted by the State Government only.

The fee is Rs 1,000 per paper, payable through the official website, cse.ap.gov.in.

The hall tickets will be available from December 3, 2025, while the initial key will be released on January 2, 2026, followed by the final results on January 19, 2026, said an official notification.

The APTET qualification is mandatory for appointment as teachers in government, aided, and private schools in Andhra Pradesh. As per NCTE norms, the TET certificate will remain valid for a lifetime. The APTET score will carry a 20 per cent weightage in future Teacher Recruitment Tests (TRT) conducted by the state government.
