NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) will be held on February 8, 2026.
The CBSE has opened the registration window and the last date for submitting the CTET 2026 applications is December 18.
The detailed information on the examination, syllabus, languages, eligibility criteria, examination fee, examination cities and important dates is available on the official website of CTET 2026, ctet.nic.in.
The CTET February 2026 exam will be held in 136 cities across the country. Candidates are required to give four different options in order of their preference.
How to fill CTET February 2026 application form
Step 1: Visit the official website of CTET, ctet.nic.in
Step 2: Click on the link “Apply for CTET February 2026”
Step 3: Click on new registration and register
Step 4: Fill the application form
Step 5: Pay the exam fee and upload the required documents

The CTET 2026 exam will be held for two papers — paper 1 (for Class 1 to 5) and paper 2 (for Class 6 to 8).
Registration fee
To register and apply for CTET February 2026, applicants under the General and OBC categories will have to pay Rs 1,000 for one paper and Rs 1,200 for both papers.
The registration fee for SC, ST, and differently-abled persons is Rs 500 for the single paper test and Rs 600 for both papers.
The validity period of CTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be for life time for all categories.
There is no restriction on the number of attempts a person can take for acquiring a CTET certificate. A person who has qualified CTET earlier may also appear again to improve the score.
The CTET shall apply to schools of the central government including KVS, NVS, central Tibetan schools and schools under the administrative control of UTs of Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu and Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and NCT of Delhi.
CTET may also apply to the unaided private schools, who may exercise the option of considering the CTET, a statement on the information brochure said.
