Registrations For IISER Aptitude Test 2025 To Commence On March 10

The IAT will be held on March 10 for admission to Indian Institute of Science Education and Research campuses at Berhampur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram, and Tirupati

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) will commence the registration process for IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) on March 10.

The previous date for registration was March 5. The deadline for submitting the application has been fixed at April 15. The window for carrying out correction in the application forms will remain open on April 21 and 22. Admit cards for the exam will be released on May 15, the official website, https://iiseradmission.in/index.html said.

The IISER entrance exam is conducted for students who wish to get admission at IISER. The exam will be conducted in a computer-based test mode on May 25, 2025 across the country.

Eligibility criteria

  • Candidates must have passed Class 12 (or equivalent) exam in 2023 or 2024 or 2025 with science stream from any board recognised by the Council of Boards of School Education in India.
  • Candidates must have taken at least three subjects among Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics during their Class 12 (or equivalent) examination.
  • For admissions to the following programmes, candidates must have mathematics during their Class 12 (or equivalent): 5-year BS-MS in Computational and Data Sciences program at IISER Kolkata, 4-year B. Tech. program at IISER Bhopal, 4-year BS in Economic Sciences program at IISER Bhopal and 4-year BS in Economic and Statistical Sciences program at IISER Tirupati.
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD need to score a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in their Class 12 (or equivalent) examination
  • Candidates belonging to other categories are required to score a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in their Class 12 (or equivalent) examination.

Application Fee

The application fee is to be paid by the applicant during the submission of the application form. The application portal shall open on March 10, 2025.

  • Rs. 2,000 for candidates applying under General, EWS, OBC, and OBC-NCL categories.
  • Rs. 1,000 for candidates applying under persons with disabilities (PwD), persons registered as Kashmiri Migrants/Kashmiri Pandits/Kashmiri Hindu Families (Non-Migrant) and SC/ST category.
  • Rs. 12,000/- for candidates applying under Foreign National category.

Exam pattern

IAT will comprise 60 questions, 15 questions each from Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics.

The total duration of the test will be 180 minutes. Questions will be of multiple choice type. Each question will have only one correct answer.
