Sainik Schools Entrance Exam: Last Date For Submission Of Applications Extended Till This Date
Bhubaneswar: The last date for submitting forms for All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE) has been extended till November 5.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) which conducts the AISSEE test, scheduled on January 9 next year, informed about the extension in a release.
Earlier this month, Sainik School, Bhubaneswar had invited online applications from candidates. Group Captain S Dominic Rayan, Principal, Sainik School Bhubaneswar said the process for applying online for AISSEE 2022 has commenced from September 27.
Candidates willing for admission to Class VI can apply on the website https://aissee.nta.nic.in which will be accepted up to 5 pm on October 26.
Sainik School-Bhubaneswar has notified admission to the 80 seats for boys and 10 seats for girls. A candidate should be between 10 and 12 years as on March 31, 2022, and should have been born between April 1, 2010, and March 31, 2012 (both days inclusive) for admission to the academic year 2022-23.
Referring to the uniform scholarship scheme implemented by the Odisha government with effect from 2019-20 to enable the parents under the income group of Rs 3 lakh per annum to get the scholarship amount at par with the tuition fee being charged by the Sainik School, Ryan said apart from this, in accordance with the decision of the state government to implement diet subsidy for Odia students belonging to Schedule Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Classes (OBC), Defence and General categories will get Rs 75 per day for 295 working days from the next academic session 2022-23 onwards.
“The current scholarship scheme coupled with the diet subsidy from the state government and financial assistance from the Ministry of Defence has brought the Sainik School education within the reach of the common man which is one of the primary objectives behind the establishment of Sainik Schools in the country,” he pointed out.
As per the current arrangement, the state government provides income-based scholarships to the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Classes, and General category students of the state while the Ministry of Defence in addition to the central share to the state government scholarship holders and subsidy to all the students studying in the school also grants Defence scholarship to the Defence category students based on the ranks of their parents serving in or retired from the Army, Navy and the Air Force.
