Bengaluru: Sheikh Galib Raza’s story is one of grit and exceptional determination at the face of adversity. Hailing from Kazi Mohalla in Mubarakpur village of Soro town in Baleshwar district, Odisha; Galib Raza has overcome serious curveballs of life to become successful. He is all set to be the first doctor in his family and his village- a rare feat for a village boy.
Galib has come out with flying colours in this year’s NEET 2024 examination by scoring 690, which will easily enable him to get a seat in any prestigious medical college in India. Importantly, there is a huge improvement of 100 numbers in Galib’s score as compared to his previous attempt. And such improvement has come despite several real-life obstacles that Galib had to face during his preparations. During his preparation, Galib had to face serious health issues and economic difficulties.
According to his elder sister, Rabiya Tarannum; Galib suffered from a severe health issue — a urinary tract stricture that required major surgery. This happened just three months before the NEET UG 2023 examination. Despite such health issues, Galib took the exam with a urine pouch and was able to score 590 in the examination. “Seeing his resilience, I was certain he would succeed in his next attempt,” she said.
Galib’s mother also remained a fountain of support during his tumultuous journey. Despite facing taunts from villagers and relatives, she encouraged him to ignore negativity and focus on his goal.
“Galib’s achievement has brought immense pride to our family. He will be the first doctor not only in our family but also in our village,” Mobassara Khatoon, Galib’s mother proudly shared.
Galib’s drive to succeed was fuelled by his father’s dream. His father, SK Mohit, said, “I always wished for Galib to be the first doctor in our family and village. Galib’s determination to achieve this dream played a crucial role in his success. Galib’s score of 590 in NEET UG 2023 gave him the confidence to sit for the exam again. His mother’s encouragement and insistence on hard work further motivated him. Despite fluctuating scores in internal tests, Galib remained committed, with his perseverance reflected in his final score.”
ALLEN Online Programme played a crucial role:
Galib’s preparation was significantly enhanced by ALLEN Online Programme. The platform’s interactive live classes allowed him to engage directly with teachers, while features like the doubt portal and direct communication with faculty ensured comprehensive support. The tests provided by ALLEN Digital simulated the NEET UG exam conditions, helping Galib acclimate to the real test environment, the institute said in a release.
Legendary Urdu poet Mirza Ghalib famously said, “Don’t go by the lines on the palm of hand Ghalib, Luck is bestowed even on those who don’t have hands.” And Sheikh Galib Raza is an example of what a person can achieve through hard work and determination. His journey will definitely inspire many who can aspire to achieve extraordinary feats by overcoming difficult circumstances.
