Prime Minister Narendra Modi To Give Away The Prizes At IIT Madras

New Delhi: The second edition of the Singapore-India Hackathon will be held in IIT Madras on September 28 and 29, the HRD on Thursday said.

The team with the most innovative solution will be paid prize money of Rs $10,000. The second, third and fourth winning teams will win $8000, $6000 and $4000 respectively, a government statement said.

There will also be ‘prize of encouragement’ for six more teams.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will give away the prizes to the winning teams on September 30.

The initiative is based on the PM’s vision of actively promoting engagement and collaboration of the best brains in India with the international world to develop innovative and out of the box solutions for some of the daunting problems confronting the society.

The first edition was held in Nanyang Technological Institute in Singapore in November 2018 based on the theme ‘smart campus’.

The theme of this year’s event is good health and wellbeing, quality education and affordable and clean energy.

The event will have 20 teams and for the first time, each participating team will comprise three students each from India and Singapore.
