SOA Student Branch Of IEEE To Provide Global Platform For Innovation, Collaboration & Leadership

The initiative will provide students with a global platform for innovation, collaboration and leadership in emerging technologies.

BHUBANESWAR: The Student Branch of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) was inaugurated at the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), faculty of engineering and technology of SOA Deemed to be University here.

The SOA Student Branch Chapter of the IEEE Computer Society was launched simultaneously at the same event.

Prof. Renu Sharma, Joint Secretary, IEEE, Bhubaneswar Section and Counsellor, IEEE, SOA Student Branch, explained the objectives and vision behind establishing the SOA Student Branch, saying that the initiative will provide students with a global platform for innovation, collaboration and leadership in emerging technologies.

SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda lauded appreciated the efforts of coordinators and student members for taking steps to strengthen IEEE activities within the university, and encouraged students to engage in interdisciplinary research, professional development and community-based engineering solutions in alignment with IEEE’s global mission.

Others who addressed the event were Prof. D.P. Dogra, Treasurer, IEEE Bhubaneswar Section and Associate Professor at IIT Bhubaneswar; Hare Krishna Rath, Advisor, IEEE Bhubaneswar Section and former Chair, IEEE, Bhubaneswar Sub-section; Prof. A.K. Tripathy, Advisor, IEEE, Bhubaneswar Section and former Director General, CPRI and General Manager, BHEL; Prof. Chinmoy Kumar Panigrahi, Vice-Chair, IEEE Bhubaneswar Section and Professor and Director, School of Electrical Engineering, KIIT University; and Prof. Pratap Ranjan Mohanty, Chair (SAC), IEEE Bhubaneswar Section, and Professor, Department of EEE, Silicon University.
