Hyderabad: The admissions will open for Jain International Residential School Hybrid (JIRS-H), south Asia’s first hybrid school, in January 2022. The hybrid school has a network of at least 40 home campuses in 20 Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam and Varanasi.
The Cambridge-affiliated school has been established in association with Crimson, a Hyderabad-based school management company.
This school is different from the conventional format. It has brought on board students and teachers from across India — irrespective of their geographic location — and offer students a combination of online and offline classes (K-XII) for the first time.
In this school, all subject classes will be streamed online through a learning operating system – TMRW – by teachers based out of various locations. However, for sports, practicals, etc, students will be tied up with a school close to their residence for offline activities.
The school will charge an annual fee between Rs 1 lakh and Rs 2 lakh.
“There will also be a parent campus — Jain International Residential School, Bengalauru – but students have to travel there only to appear for their Class 10 and Class 12 board exams,” school’s governing board member, Francis Joseph, was quoted as saying by The Times of India.
“Through this model, we aim to bring together quality teachers from across physical boundaries, so that any learner located in any part of the country, however remote the place may be, can have access to good education,” governing body member added.
The school is set to have four branches in Hyderabad. NITI Aayog CEO, Amitabh Kant will officially inaugurate the school on December 24.
