States Shut Down Schools To Check COVID Spread; Check Details

Bhubaneswar: The ascending number of cases has been causing major tension among the people of India.
With the second wave in 2021 resulting in a catastrophe, the government this time is taking precautionary measures to curb the escalation of the deadly virus.

The number of cases in cities like Delhi, Mumbai have already crossed 8000 a day, causing the educational institutions of many cities with over 4% of daily cases, to shut down.

1. Delhi:
It was the first to announce the closure of all schools in the city from January 3, 2022, till further orders.

2. Maharashtra:
All schools in Mumbai are closed till January 31, 2022.

3. Haryana:
All colleges and schools are closed till January 12, 2022.

4. Rajasthan:
All schools in Jaipur are closed till January 9, 2022.

5. Pune:
All schools from Class 1-8 are closed till January 30, 2022.

6. Goa:
All schools and colleges are shut down till January 26, 2022.

7. Punjab:
All schools and colleges have been closed till January 15. Along with the night curfew from 10 pm.

8. Uttar Pradesh
Schools in Noida, Greater Noida, Hapur and Ghaziabad have been shut down after severe cold waves and a surge in Omicron cases.

9. Jharkhand
All schools are closed till January 15, 2022.

10. Bihar
Schools in Patna were till January 8:00 due to cold wave, in addition to that all classes till 8 standard are closed, with 9-12 having offline classes with 50% capacity due to Covid.

11. West Bengal
All schools are closed till further notice.

12. Odisha
No announcement on shutting down schools yet. The reopening of school primary students, which was scheduled for January 3, has been deferred. Physical classes are being held for students of Class 6-12.

13. Telangana
All schools are closed from January 8 to 16.

14. Karnataka
School for all classes are closed except Standard 10 and 12 in Bengaluru.

15. Tamil Nadu
All classes from 1-8 are closed till further notice.
