Rourkela: With business activities making a jump to digital platform in the impact of COVID pandemic, the new players in the field find it tough to get a foothold. In order to help these budding entrepreneurs, students of the National Institute of Technology – Rourkela (NIT-R) have set up a club.
With increasing number of students from the Institute going for entrepreneurship at the end of their course, the club, ‘Matrix – The Marketing Club’, basically targets them to develop their business acumen with technology and marketing strategies. Since the pandemic led to a shift from conventional marketing methods to the online medium, the students want to cash in on it.
The club carries out social media campaigns among other things to highlight marketing types and strategies, the importance of logos, competitiveness among brands, meme marketing and advertisement for special occasions. The Matrix has five teams with 5 members each who work on content writing, digital marketing study, and web development.
“A combination of effective presentation and marketing work effectively towards connecting a brand with the target audiences,” TNIE quoted club president Ishu Goyal as saying.
The club plans to develop a blogging website besides Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). “In terms of technical knowledge and skills, the students of the institute are second to none but the success of a business or start-up demands different skills,” said Goyal.
“We study the digital marketing strategies of noted companies and other aspects and the nitty-gritty of marketing to educate our target audiences through various social media platforms,” he added.
