Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government has extended the deadline for students to upload documents for admission. Students seeking admission to government arts and science colleges can upload the same between August 1 and 10 now.
Earlier announcement said that aspirants were required to upload their certificates, including Class XII marksheets, passport sized photograph, scanned signature and community certificate between July 25 and August 5.
Students had requested for deadline extension after the School Education Department started distributing mark sheets only on July 25, Higher Education Minister KP Anbalagan said in a statement.
More than two lakh students have sought admission for various courses and nearly 1.3 lakh have deposited the fees. In 109 government art and science colleges, there are just over 92,000 seats to be filled up.
Students are allowed to apply for three courses in a college using one application.
