Kolkata: Two new papers — naval architecture and marine engineering and geomatics engineering — will be introduced in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2022.
The organising committee of GATE 2022, IIT-Kharagpur also proposed to increase the number of centres for the forthcoming exam.
The exam will be held with a number of additional safety protocols in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. Students will also have the choice of opting for more than one paper.
GATE 2021 had also introduced a couple of new papers on humanities and environmental science last year, and nearly 14,000 candidates opted for them.
