TISS Introduces 2-Tier Screening Test For Sought-After Courses; Details Here

The TISS MAT exam will be conducted for screening of candidates who wish to apply for MA (HRM&LR) and MA (ODCL) programmes.

The Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS), has decided to conduct a separate entrance test for candidates who wish to take admissions to the master’s programmes like Human Resource Management and Labour Relations (HRM&LR) and Organisation Development, Change and Leadership (ODCL).

The screening test will be known as the TISS Management Aptitude Test (MAT). It will be held immediately after the TISS-NET, which is scheduled to be held on January 4, 2020 in online and computer-based mode. 

All the candidates who qualify the entrance exam, they will have to appear in TISS-MAT, after which they will have to take part in the pre-interview test as well as personal interview.

The TISS MAT test is aimed to determine a candidate’s ability to read and interpret data which is related to the market, economy, business and organisation; understand management literature and assess their business knowledge. The syllabus and topics for each section of TISS-MAT exam are available on the official website.

As per the exam pattern of TISS MAT, the question paper will comprise 3 sections, namely

  • Management Data Interpretation
  • Comprehension
  • Business Awareness

In the overall selection process, the TISS MAT exam will carry a weightage of 10 per cent while the pre-interview test and personal interview will carry a weightage of 40 per cent and 30 per cent respectively.
