TN Govt Distributes Free Books; School Curriculum To Be Announced Within 3 Days
Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government has started distributing free books to students of class 10 and 12 from July 15.
According to the Minister of School Education K.A. Sengottaiyan Sengottaiyan, the school curriculum will be announced within the next three days.
Due to the raging COVID-19 pandemic, schools and all educational institutions have had to adopt and introduce a number of changes ranging from mode of teaching to the syllabus.
As many as 6,019 schools in Tamil Nadu will get WiFi connections, enabling learning through YouTube videos and QR (Quick Response) code with the help of teachers’ guidance.
Schools in Tamil Nadu have been shut since March 17 due to the rising number of coronavirus cases. Nationwide lockdown was imposed from March 25.
According to media reports, online lessons in different subjects will be broadcast through 14 television channels, including state-sponsored channel ‘Kalvi’.
