Lucknow: Students in around 1.59 lakh government-run primary and upper primary schools would soon study COVID-19, Vedic Maths and Namami Gange scheme in Uttar Pradesh following a revamp of the syllabus.
Also, Sanskrit would now be taught from class I instead of class III. The Basic Education Council approved the new syllabus recently.
“Revamping the syllabus and making suitable changes in it is a continuous process which is being done in consultation with our team of expert academicians. The aim is to keep our students abreast with the contemporary knowledge,” Director (basic education), UP, Sarvendra Vikram Bahadur Singh was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
Recently, the Yogi government had taken a call to teach Sanskrit to children of classes I and II.
