UP State Universities To Webcast Exams From 2020-21 Session
The Aim Is To Ensure Transparency & Fairness In Conduct Of The Tests
Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to webcast all state university examinations to stop students from indulging in unfair practices.
According to a news report, the Government has issued a missive to all university registrars to ensure the installation of CCTVs and voice recorders along with proper router devices in all examination halls in all government-aided and private colleges holding the exams.
“The state universities have been asked to first opt for government and government-aided colleges as examination centres and only then go for self-financed colleges as per need and that too after ensuring that they have installed at least two CCTV cameras in each exam hall and more in case the hall is bigger in a way that view of the entire hall is covered,” a state government official told the Hindustan Times.
The regional higher education officer will monitor the examinations from the control centre.
The UP government’s step comes in the wake of some states such as Odisha and Karnataka deciding to adopt high-end technologies to ensure smooth conduct of the examination under all fairness.
The Council of Higher Secondary Education in Odisha, for example, has decided to use CCTV extensively for the conduct of the Plus II exams beginning in March this year. Control centres at the district level and in the CHSE head office will be set up to monitor live the conduct of the exams with the help of internet facilities.
