Lucknow: Higher Education Digital Library was launched by Uttar Pradesh authorities to provide students with free and best study materials.
The library can be accessed from any part of the state or country by students enrolled in higher education institutions with just a click of a mouse.
Around 1,700 teachers from 23 state universities have already uploaded over 35,000 e-content material on 134 subjects on the digital library, as reported by The Times of India.
“The digital library is a unique initiative in higher education. Now, students can access the study material created by experts from anywhere and anytime and hence education will not be confined to the boundaries of campuses and time,” said Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma.
Sharma, who is also the state’s Minister for Secondary and Higher Education, said that the students who cannot afford expensive journals and books for studies and research will benefit by this initiative that does not cost anything.
Both English and Hindi content will be available in the digital library. A helpline number is also provided to assist students in their queries.
