Uttarakhand Govt Orders Schools To Charge Only Tuition Fees For Lockdown Period

Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government has ordered the schools to charge only tuition fees for the lockdown period.

The state government directed the schools — that resumed offline sessions on February 8 for classes VI to IX and XI — to charge only tuition fees for the lockdown period from the students.

The schools are at liberty to ask for total fees from these students only from the day they resumed physical classroom teaching, according to an order issued by School Education Secretary, R Meenakshi Sundaram.

Students of other classes currently taking online sessions will have to pay only the tuition fees, the order said.

The government order also mentioned that the schools should sympathetically treat any request from guardians to pay fees in instalments, according to news agency PTI.
