West Bengal Govt Bans Loudspeaker During Board Exams
Kolkata – The West Bengal Board Secondary Education (WBBSE) board exams for classes-10 and 12 Madhyamik and Uchha Madhyamaik are beginning shortly and students are preparing for board exams in full flow.
And keeping this in view, the West Bengal Pollution Control Board (WBPCB) on Saturday banned the use of loudspeakers in residential areas, around schools and other educational institutions.
While the WB Class-10 board exams are beginning on February 18 and will go on till February 27, 2020, the WB Class-12 board exams will start from March 12 and will go on till March 27, 2020.
Loudspeakers ban to be implemented three days before WB board exams begin
The WB education board released a notification which stated that the loudspeaker ban would be enforced three days before board exams begin in the state and would continue till both the Class-10 and Class-12 board exams end in the state.
This means that the loudspeaker ban in West Bengal would continue from February 15 to March 27, 2020.
As per media reports, the practice of loudspeaker ban has been in place in West Bengal for the past couple of years to ensure minimum sound pollution in order to help students study distraction-free.
Other states such as Uttar Pradesh are also taking steps to ensure minimum noise pollution during board exams.
